Nicely packaged for one reading a day for a month, but with enough to satisfy those who like reading straight through, Real Men, Real Faith illustrates what men (specifically, but not exclusively) can accomplish when God is recognized as being in control. Missionaries, sports figures, politicians, white and blue collar workers, and pastors all take part in these stories, showing that you can do all things through Christ, who strengthens you. (Philippians 4:13)
Geared toward men, Real Men Real Faith is an inspiring book for daily devotions. By reading a chapter each day, you can go through the book in a month. Filled with stories of contemporary Christian men who are living out their faith, each short story shares how that man came to know God in his own personal way.
Real Men Real Faith had some cool stories that I, as a 14-year-old guy really liked. Lost on a mountain top, Pat Williams saw his life flash before his eyes and gave his heart to God. Prayer is the tool Christian policeman, Brent Williams uses to meet the challenges of his job. President George W. Bush, Franklin Graham, and Bill Gaither are among the stories included in this book. My favorites were about Orel Hershiser, Larry Garcia, and William H. Frist.
The story of Orel Hershiser showed me that people who are famous have the same problems I do. Larry Garcia was raised in a Christen home but he didn't find God until he was older. As a doctor, William H. Frist ministers to people in war-torn Sudan where there has been no medical care for a decade.
I recommend Real Men Real Faith to men who wonder if there really are other guys out there living their faith. Josiah Wells, Christian Book Previews.com
