We began this year with low comprehension levels, slow reading, reluctancy to read, inability to comprehend vocabulary with contex clues, poor spelling and word structure! WE HAD EVERY READING PROBLEM AN 8 yr old could HAVE!!! In a very short time we have improved all of the above! In my opinion there is NO POSSIBLE WAY we could have done this without the exceptional work of BJU Press. The lessons push comprehension, character analysis, word literacy and encourage students to interpret both fiction and non-fiction works. In addition, after each story there is a section on vocabulary skills (ie: vc/cv type lessons, word structure, dictionary skills and more). My dtr has fallen in love with reading - she is reading chapter books with fluency and has caught up to her public schooled peers and is passing them up! WOW - THANKS BJU PRESS!
