The True Christmas Story
This is the true bibical story of Christ birth and the events leading up to it. It is a book I will cherish reading to my Grandchildren for many years to come.

This is a wonderful, scriptural depiction of the birth of Christ, with appropriate cartoon illustrations from the angel's message to Elizabeth about the birth of John, to the angel's visit to Mary, followed by the angel's visit to Joseph. It has age appropriate questions for little ones to think about after each 'story' leading up to Christ's birth. I gave this to my nephews along with the movie "The Nativity Story DVD" and my brother asked if they were meant to 'go together', I said "No, but they are based on God's word, so they match ! " Thank you CBD, wonderful gifts.

I enjoyed reading this book to my sons during Christmastime. It is a colorful, easy-to-read book from the best-selling Read and Share Bible that starts with Gabriel delivering message to Zechariah, then the birth of John the Baptist, Gabriel's visit to Mary, an angel relaying Gods message in Joseph's dream, the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, the angel's announcement to the shepherds, the shepherds finding Jesus in the manger, the wise men and their gifts, the journey of Joseph, Mary, and Jesus to Egypt, and ends with them being back home in Nazareth. At the end of each story, there is either an insightful statement or a question to ponder and discuss. My youngest son succeeded in retelling the story by pointing to the mixed up pictures (at the end of the book) in the correct order. We enjoyed watching the included animated DVD that has six stories from the Life of Jesus (John the Baptist, Jesus Is Born, Where Is Jesus?, Jesus Tempted by Satan, Jesus' Life, and Jesus Loves Children) plus six trailers. This is also a DVD ROM that includes coloring pages and wallpaper. The book and DVD are a wonderful visual tool for helping young children to understand the different major events surrounding the Christmas account.

I love this book. This book is in Thomas Nelson's line of Read and Share stories for children. This book is easy for children to understand and is retelling the story of Christmas. This book is broken up into 10 mini-stories. Each mini-story has the Scripture reference of where it is taken from in the Bible. Also there is a question for thought at the end of each mini-story that is good for reflection and get the children thinking. The last few pages of this story is a Quiz, asking you to put the out of order pictures in the correct order and retell the story. I really like this. It is a fun way to check and see if the children understood and how good their reading comprehension is. The author has written this in a simple and child friendly way. The illustrations are really cute and simple in this book. I would love for all children to read this and understand that Christmas is about the Birth of Christ. This is a very informative and fun reading book. I highly recommend it.
