Knowing that the author considered her self a recovering feminist I was eager to begin the book. From page one I was hooked. She covers difficult and controversial material very seriously while maintaining a level of readability for any woman. In my opinion she takes on many opponents in presenting the material contained in Radical Womanhood, but even more than that she does it as a single woman! This I found refreshing and captivating. As she states fact, quotes scripture and offers suggestions, she does so in a very straightforward and yet non threatening manner. She practices humility and grace. As a mother of three and a grandmother of two I have oft been offended by the “advice” and commentary of single women. Not so with Carolyn McCulley she is candid and transparent. Never once does she try to act as if she “has been there” in any way other than as a friend, helper, and counselor. This humility is charming and engaging, encouraging you to read more.
From Dented Femininity to Feminine Faith she leads you on a journey from the self centered arrogance of a young college woman who has “all the answers” and offends others with this knowledge.
