Publisher's Description

When Sarah Palin says it, all of America hears it.

In the few years since Americans met Sarah Palin, her every word has been chronicled, analyzed, celebrated, and yes, infamously disparaged. Regardless of your party affiliation, it's impossible to deny her influence on American politics and the dialogue her ideas have generated.  Author Matt Lewis has gathered some of Palin's most memorable remarks, reminding us that whether you consider her a rogue or a patriot, her words reveal a genuine love for America.

Endorsements:

If you learned everything you knew about American politics from Matt Lewis, you'd be in pretty good shape. I should know, since I practically do.

?Tucker Carlson, Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Caller

Matt Lewis is a conservative provocateur and has an easy way of making complicated issues understandable and leaving the DC jargon off the table. Matt's projects always make you think, reflect and act.

?Governor Rick Perry, 47th Governor of Texas

Sarah Palin is one of the most important conservative leaders in America -- and Matt Lewis is one of my favorite writers.  Every conservative ought to have a copy of the Quotable Rogue in their personal library -- if for no other reason than to refute the distortions and lies constantly hurled at Palin by her detractors.

?Ken Blackwell, former Ohio Secretary of State, senior fellow at the Family Research Council

For all the accolades heaped on Mr. Obama for his soaring rhetoric and brilliant, professorial oratory, it's hard to deny that Sarah Palin is one of the most quotable leaders of the 21st century. The Quotable Rogue brings that into stunning clarity. And it's not because she's controversial -- it's because she's usually just right.

?S.E. Cupp, political columnist and culture critic, author of Losing Our Religion: The Liberal Media’s Attack on Christianity

As you'll see in Matt's book, the reason for Sarah Palin's popularity is that she speaks in a blunt fashion and exposes truths that the politically correct job-protecting elites are fearful of.  She is a far wiser woman than Katie Couric.

?Andrew Breitbart, Breitbart.com, author of Righteous Indignation

Sarah Palin drives the left crazy and makes many of the Republicans who collaborated with Democrats to destroy our fiscal wellbeing duck and cover.  Matt Lewis captures, through Sarah Palin's own words, her wit, wisdom, and basic sense that America remains the last best hope for mankind.

?Erick Erickson, Editor-in-Chief of RedState.com

Steadfast in her beliefs and fearless in her demeanor, Sarah Palin has become a leading voice in today’s conservative movement and has inspired a new generation of activists. This book of quotes captures the independent spirit of Palin and is a great resource for all of us who are ‘going rogue’ alongside her.

?Teri Christoph, co-founder, Smart Girl Politics

A book like this one is absolutely essential in a world where the media refuses to quote Gov. Palin without liberal doses of snark, vitriol, and hyperbole. It's refreshing to see straight quotes in print so that readers can make up their own minds.

?Adam Brickley, founder, "Draft Sarah Palin for Vice President"

I was not sure if I would enjoy this book or not primarily because of Sarah Palin's reputation in the media. I honestly did not know much about her true beliefs and hadn't heard many worthwhile quotes from her in the past. Admittedly, I was much more familiar with the Saturday Night Live version.

Some of the quotes are funny, but for the most part I think the book represents her well. It was a good mix of quotes on many topics. It is well arranged, easy to read, easy to navigate, and easy to share.

When I was first presented the option of reviewing a book of Sarah Palin quotes, I jumped at the chance. Sarah Palin was the ONLY reason why I voted for McCain in 2008. Ever since she came on to the national scene, Palin has become a cultural icon of conservative values.

However, Palin has also found herself in midst of controversy. The one who may wish to be our Chief Executive seemingly could not handle the job on the state level when she resigned as governor of Alaska. The one who champions family values has a daughter who got pregnant outside of marriage and has what can be deemed at best a "tabloid" on-again-off-again relationship with the father.

To make a long story short, the woman is just plain interesting.

This book of quotes is a must-read for any Palin fan. Should Palin decide to officially throw her hat into the ring for the GOP Presidential nomination, some of the quotes may come back to haunt her_

Matt Lewis has done a great job of reaching back into Palin's career, including her Wasilla days, to give an accurate representation of where she stands on a variety of issues. Open this book and you will see Sarah Palin speaking on abortion, civil rights, energy, education, crime, health care, terrorism and a whole host of other issues. Lewis also quotes Sarah's thoughts on her family including quotes on mothering a child with Down Syndrome and her first thoughts on hearing of Bristol's pregnancy.

Of course, Mr. Lewis has included the classic Palin lines we have cove to love such as:

"The difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick." (page 32)

"The toughest thing has been the shots taken against the kids, against the family. They're my kids. The mama grizzly bear in me comes out, makes me want to rear up on my hind legs and say, "Wait a minute." It's a little bit unfair there. It has noting to do with taking the country in a new direction." (page 86)

I am thankful that Lewis reminds us that one of Palin's most famous quotes about being able to see Russia from her house was never actually a quote by Sarah. No, that was Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live. Her actual words were:

"_It's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the airspace of the United States of America: Where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just over the border. It is from Alaska that we send out those to make sure that an eye is being kept on this powerful nation. Russi, because they are right here. They are right next to our state." (page 10)

This is a great resource that will give you some insight into the mind of one of the most fascinating women in politics today.

That having been said, for the most part, I don't think this book is very flattering for Palin. True to life, she just does not come off as very intelligent. In my opinion, these quotes reflect a shallow mind that has not really struggled and wrestled with issues. Instead of thoughtful and detailed solutions to our problems, we left with little sound bites that serve only as guaranteed applause lines at Tea Party functions. However, this is a book of quotes was not meant as a substantive analysis of her views.

I still recommend that you buy this book if you have any interest in Sarah Palin as a political figure. It's an easy read and keeps your attention.

The Quotable Rogue (Rouge for reasons I'm not aware of refers to former GOP Vice residential candidate Sarah Palin) Is a pretty basic quote book. It's taken largel from interviews and Q and As. It's not a simple one liner book as are some quote books. The average quote in this volume is about a paragraph. It goves vaious quotes from various places on thirty-three topics including Abortion, Civil Rights, Economics, Education, Gun Control, Immigration Reform, Faith, Taxes, The Tea Party Movement and twenty-two more. It also contains an index in the back for quick and easy reference on many topics. As most quote books it's somewhat boring to read cover to cover. It's best read in bits or devotionally or to just be a general reference book. This book, however, I believe is a valuable book in the hands of a potential voter. This will give a good overview of a potential United States Presidential candidate that could very well help voters decides whom they want to vote for. If your on the fence about whether or not you would want to vote for Sarah Palin (as I admit I have been) then you should read The Quotable Rogue. It could very well make up your mind either for or against.

This book is all Sarah Palin in her own quotes and words on all subjects. It is a book that you can use as a reference to what she really believes and for those that do not want to believe she is an honest and patriotic woman. The book covers many subjects: Health Care, Crime, Education, Family, Faith, Tea Party, Tina Fey, Washington and the list goes on. This book has it all, and all from what Sarah is about, everyone should read this book and know that she is good for this country! She is really what America needs to bring back what America is all about.

I enjoyed this book and it is a great reference to use when people are against what Sarah does, believes or has said.

The Quotable Rogue: The Ideals of Sarah Palin In Her Own Words was edited by Matt Lewis, and the book is just what the title states: quotes and topics discussed by Sarah Palin. The book looks at quotes by Sarah Palin from interviews, newspaper, and other places. The topics were varied and included Abortion, Living in Alaska, Barak Obama, Civil Rights, Gun Control, Health Care, John McCain, the Media, the GOP, Running for Office, the Tea Party, Tina Fey, and Washington.

I liked reading this book and getting the opportunity to review some of the topics which are of interest in America today. I enjoyed this book because I liked the format that I could look at a particular issue and see what her thoughts were on the topic. Although this might not be a book someone would want to read in one sitting, it is an interesting read.
