The spiritual messages in both the cat and people stories are motivating and thoughtful. I especially enjoyed the Scripture reference and questions to ask yourself.

Purr-ables from Heaven is simply a marvelous book, whether one wants to read it daily as a devotional or in larger sections, because the writing and insights are so good either way. If you love cats, or any animals, and want to know more about life in both its joys and sorrows, this is a wonderful collection of true stories about the authors' cats, which correspond to deeper truths for humans. It is also a very affordable book to give as a gift to family members and friends. With its delightful title and appealing picture of a cat on the cover, one is not surprised to discover that the three authors can make us chuckle at times. However, they also write sensitively about such profound issues as the loss of those closest to us, and the gaining of faith in God. Each of the almost sixty stories begins with a quote and ends with a Bible verse and thought question, making this purr-fect for individual or group readings. As I was typing this, my cat knocked over a flower vase full of water on my dining room table, and I recalled one of the stories which reminds us to be patient with the shortcomings of our cats and of the people in our lives, as well!
