Quite frankly this book is a sleeper in that it it not being trumpeted at the top of the christian books best sellers list. However, this book is a critical expose of the current state of affairs within the post evangelical world we live in. Dr. White does an excellent job of systematically calling our attention to "fads" and "schemes" that our carried out in the name of spirituality but ultimately are failing our churches, our flocks and most important our Lord. A must read for the serious believer and the serious preacher and pastor.

Pulpit Crimes is an insightful examination of the state of preaching in the Church today. White is a careful exegete and a fine thinker, and while I'm not always impressed with his caustic manner and what sometimes appears to be arrogance, this book hits the nail right on the head.

If you're wondering what's gone wrong in evangelical churches today (maybe even your own church?) this book addresses it, and addresses the Biblical solutions to it. It's a short read, but goes right to the heart of numerous issues within evangelicalism, and addresses each of them thoroughly and Biblically.
