Publisher's Description

This ancient clan demonstrates the successful transition of faith that remains aflame for centuries. Communicating zeal for God that any Christian father can emulate today, this biblical narrative unfolds an obscure characters life. In a time of spiraling moral and theological decline, the book encourages Christian families not only to stand but to pass the torch of their faith securely throughout generations. What can Christian families learn from one minor Old Testament man whose godly line still continues today? The answer communicates the strong and sure message of hope in The Promise of Jonadab.

As a mum, I highly recommend this book to those who have a heart for the Lord, and for raising the next generation to seek Him with their whole hearts, especially in a culture like ours that has removed itself so far away from any semblance of following God. It will be not only helpful and encouraging to Christian parents (home schooling and otherwise), but to Christian school teachers and leaders also.

The book itself is well written, easily readable, and not lengthy - so it is not difficult to get through even if you are busy and don't read a lot. The style of writing and the real life stories related here keep it practical, interesting, and relevant to today's culture. The level of information and encouragement that it has to offer make it well worth taking the time to read - if I read no other book this year (apart from the Bible!) I'm very glad I read this one ;)

Check out 2 Kings 10, and Jeremiah 35, if you are interested to see the biblical basis for this gem of a book.

The authors have little or no knowledge of the old testament. Jonadab was a kenite(son of cain) so his father was not God. God used this scripture in Jer/ 35 to show how much He values obedience. Jonadab has all the marks of a vagabond. Who was the original vagabond? Cain. Be careful. check out the whole word. 1 chronicles 2:55.
