Ruth Bell Graham knows about prodigals- two of her five children were spiritual wanderers, From the pain she experienced as she prayed, watched, and waited for them to return to the fold, comes this book. Throughout the writing Mrs. Graham kept in mind both the hurt and disappointment the one who wanders feels and the confusion and fear of the one who waits. To capture both sides, she recounts stories about five prodigals, interlacing them with the stories of those who loved them. Mrs. Graham also includes her own poems and diary entries written during the prodigal years of her two sons, as well as hymns and Bible verses that brought her solace.

Miriam Remington3 Stars Out Of 5January 25, 2008Miriam RemingtonI absolutely love Ruth Bell Graham.I must say I was a bit disappointed by the book. Although it was good and she shared many stories of prodigals from history; I for some reason I was expecting something more. Gigi's contribution to the book of her prodigal son helped bring me hope. This is just my opinion certainly one should read it and make their own decision.
MISSY SMITH5 Stars Out Of 5August 11, 2007MISSY SMITHAnyone that has a prodigal must read this. It helped me so much. Even if you don't have a prodigal you should read it and pass it along. It was a tru blessing to me.
Charrie Bates5 Stars Out Of 5February 12, 2007Charrie BatesAs parents of three prodigals (we have four children), we found this book to be a tremendous comfort and solace especially in the midst of discouragement. We recommend this book to Christian parents who have children wandering from the Lord. It will comfort and encourage as you read from parents such as the mother of Augustine. Take courage, God is sovereign!
Donna Kester5 Stars Out Of 5January 31, 2006Donna KesterThis book is an excellent resource for anyone who has or is experiencing the pain of a loved one who has turned from the godly, moral, responsible way of life in which they have been taught. Ruth Graham and her daughter Gigi share their real life pain and struggles through their own prodigal children's stories as well as many other Christian parent's experiences. Through poignant stories, reflections, poems and personal prayers and thoughts Ms. Graham helps the reader to embrace the comfort of our Heavenly Father and to entrust our prodigals to His care. This was a very encouraging tool through my own journey with a prodigal child.
