With the purchase of 12 books for a leadership team I oversee, I am on my 4th time through this simple but amazing book. "God's amazing, unearned, unmerited grace" is a concept that is given new understanding and new life in Keller's short expose of the Biblical account of the "Prodigal Son," which Keller more aptly explains is a tale of two sons. A must read for both students of the Bible and those looking into the faith.

My small group is using this for our current study, We're incorporating the book along with the DVD, which really enhances the study. This is very in-depth, using the theme of the Prodigal Son from the Bible. It helps us to understand that both sons were sinners, not just the younger who took all his inheritance and squandered it, but also the elder who was so self-righteous. The main thing to remember is that God, our Father wants a relationship and that sometimes many of us are like the elder son, which takes away that relationship with our Father.

I borrowed this book from my brother and loved it. It is very challenging and revealing. After reading it I bought two books, one to keep myself and an extra copy. I also bought the dvd and discussion guide for our church small group. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to grow in their christian faith and relationship with God. I plan of reading this book periodically to make sure I don't let myself fall back into the "Elder Brother" role.

I'm a pastor and reading this book gave me a different look than how I have always looked at this parable. The author is very creative and made for an easy reading.

I have recommended this book to many people. I saw myself as the older brother and it gave me the insight to work on being less judgmental. The author does a wonderful job of bring clarity to this issue.
