Transport into the earliest days of Christendom and come to a better understanding of the women who helped establish Christ's church.
This Following God Bible Study examines the many women of God who served as partners in the building of early church. readers will discover how many women participated in founding the church and observe that their stories reveal a commitment, a courage, and a faith that it as impressive and important as that of the apostles.
Life principles from the Women of Acts is a twelve-week Following God Bible study examining in detail the stories of the women who helped start the Christian church.
The primary focus when teaching from the book of Acts always seems to be on the apostles, and particularly on Paul. The name of the Book is, after all, "The Acts of the Apostles." But, these mens of God neither started nor sustained the Christian church by themselves. They need the women of God as partners in order to make it work. And when you really study this book of the Bible, you not only discover how many women participated in founding the church, but you also see the "acts" of these women reveal a commitment, a courage, and a faith that is as impressive and important as that of the apostles. In fact, they were essential to the very survival of the early Christian movement.
Their stories need to be hold. Their stories are about relationship and partnership and shared leadership for the sake of the gospel. Their stories show that the early Christians were more concern about spreading the gospel than in worrying about who was right, wrong or more important. Their stories will at times shock you, bring you tears, or fill you with joy.

RaesAlbuquerque, NMAge: 45-54Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5Full of biblical errors and unsupported "facts"August 1, 2013RaesAlbuquerque, NMAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1This Bible study is so biblically inaccurate that I'm not sure how it got through the editing process for publishing. For instance, more than five times the author incorrectly refers to the books of 1 & 2 Timothy as being written BY Timothy. They were written by the Apostle Paul TO Timothy (clearly stated as such in the opening two verses of 1 Timothy chapter one). As well, the author makes a great many statements of "fact" that she doesn't support by biblical or even commentary references. Most of the statements made about Jewish life in biblical times contradict authoritative Jewish resources, including the Babylonian Talmud.
Other examples: 1) Chapter 6 includes a study of the Fruit of the Spirit which the author continually refers to as "fruits." In Galatians 5:22, Paul specifically calls it "fruit" (singular term). 2) The author uses one verse to support her bias when the very next verse of the same passage (and the same story in another gospel) say a completely contrary summation than the author's (Chapter 2, Day One lesson). Most of her teaching comes from "plucking" out a verse to meet her bias without supporting the idea with the entire passage in the Bible or cross references.
There are very few actual study questions for the student. Instead, the author writes her interpretation (without proper support) and then asks questions about personal feelings. The study (which feels like a "soap box" opportunity for women's rights, including continually changing the normal phrase "men and women" to "women and men") does very little to actually guide the student into studying the Word, only reading the author's poor interpretation of the Bible and answering devotion-type questions. The author spends too much time "telling" how important and validated women are rather than "showing" it through actual passages of Scripture and Jesus' own words.
I have never had to pre-complete an entire Bible study book (which have been many) from this publisher before leading it- they've always been biblically sound—but I will never do that again. I am clearly disappointed in the author and the publisher and will likely never use any of their Bible studies in the future.
