MargotSouth AustraliaAge: 45-54Gender: female2 Stars Out Of 5Quite UnusualAugust 13, 2014MargotSouth AustraliaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 2Value: 2Meets Expectations: 2I guess variety is the spice of life. That's probably why I finished this book. I found it difficult to cope with the first-person-present-tense writing style, and the very colloquial side comments to the reader outside of the story line. It all took a bit of getting used to. Some of the characters were quite likable, especially Aunt Weebie, and Miss Mona, but the whole thing seemed fairly far-fetched and, for me, the main character, Andie, didn't exude warmth or likability. There was a hint of romance, although I don't know how when Andie only ever expressed contempt for Max.
Technically, it was the first ebook I'd had any real issues with, with lots of strangely placed line breaks and strange arrangements of conversational quotes.
Although the story didn't finish in this book, I won't be rushing to finish the series.
RobsAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5February 16, 2012RobsAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3Ginny Aiken did a great job in bringing humor into this subject. This book was light-hearted and funny. I am not sure whether I liked that she didn't include any other person's viewpoint besides the main character. It was written in the first person format, which put an interesting spin into the story.
RockyBrooklyn, NYAge: Under 18Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5February 10, 2012RockyBrooklyn, NYAge: Under 18Gender: femaleQuality: 4Overall, I liked this book. I found the dialogue and content to be very realistic situations. This was not your typical: boy meets girl, they're enemies that fall in love. etc. The combination of mystery and potential romance makes for an interesting read.
Bookworm2Melbourne, AustraliaAge: 35-44Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5This book is super confusing!February 5, 2012Bookworm2Melbourne, AustraliaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1What a weird book. The main character's thoughts are like popping corn, all over the show. I was looking forward to reading this book, very disappointed though in how it turned out.
