Everybody wants a "good life" that's free from problems. But for some Christians, the desire to fix what's wrong with life and the pursuit of biblical "principles" and "blessings" actually become a form of idolatry. Dr. Crabb shows you how to escape that bondage and learn to experience true freedom and connectedness with God. 240 pages, softcover from Waterbrook.

Larry Crabb is one of my favorite authors. He knows how to word his feelings so that you can relate. I know just where he's coming from and I enjoy his work. This is a great book. I will reread it and reread it! If you want a radical change in your life, read this book!

This book was recommended to me by a former pastor and very good friend of mine. I was one of the people who was living as Larry Crabb describes in this book. Do A and expect B. This creates pressure in our lives because most of the time we cannot or just do not do A. Read the book slowly and include Bible study and prayer along with it. It changed the way I view and do things. And my relationship with my Lord and Savior is much stronger.
