Covering the ministry aspect of seminary life, these essays cover diverse territory with a Baptist slant, but not exclusive to any denomination, as witnessed by some non-Christian (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), mystical (breath prayers) or occult (Enneagram) teachings that are suggested. Evangelism is addressed almost exclusively through an 'evangelism through church planting' model, consistent with New Apostolic Reformation methods, and 'formation' styles (personal, professional and global) are discussed at length within the twenty-two essays.
Encouragement for students to reflect on the nature and task of ministry in the 21st century and to seek education to equip them for ministry.
David P. Gushee is Graves Professor of Moral Philosophy at Union University, Jackson, Tennessee. Walter C. Jackson is the former Charlotte Hoover Professor of Ministry at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
