Sonja Taylor4 Stars Out Of 5Good Christian fiction read for young people!November 14, 2012Sonja TaylorQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Precisely Terminated was the first dystopian novel I have ever read. It was a dark book, but tastefully written by a Christian author. The book focuses mostly on Monica's life, which was a great way to shape the main character, but I was left trying to determine if any of the other characters were permanent or not. The first few chapters really interested me, but Monica's monotonous life in bondage left me scrabbling for something new. However, the story picked up the excitement of the beginning about halfway through. The final chapters of the book were fast-paced, and the ending makes the book worth the read_as well as a certain grumpy librarian. The strongest message of the book is sacrifice, and Monica ultimately has to make the decision to ignore her own desires in life to help others. Great work, Miss Davis! This was my first dystopian novel, but not my last_after all, I still have to read your second book!

A great first novel.September 24, 2012mountainsAlberta CanadaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Amanda Davis is young in life but skilled in storytelling. She has produced a book filled with great characters, plot and suspense.
I am not usually a fan of the dystopian style of writing, but I may be converted now. Davis' book was entertaining to say the least!
The writing is clear and sophisticated. An easy read without sounding like a child wrote it. Her characters have depth and emotions that move the reader effortlessly through the story. Davis' heroine pulled me into her battles, far too heavy for a young girl to carry. From the beginning to the final chapters driving me forward to find the hope that was written throughout the story - "faith to endure, faith to achieve, faith to survive".
This is book one in what seems to be a fantastic trilogy. Can't wait to see what is next for Amanda Davis and her heroine, Monica.
An excellent read for young adults and anyone else who loves Christian fiction!

Throughout this book the reader, along with the main character, feels hopeless and depressed many times, due to the surmounting trials. But by the end you're left with such hope, that it's all worth it. I enjoyed reading this book immensely, and proudly wear my chip necklace (purchased from the author) in honor of Monica, the heroine of The Cantral Chronicles. Can't wait for the next book!

The Happy ReaderColumbia, TNAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great DebutMarch 2, 2012The Happy ReaderColumbia, TNAge: 35-44Gender: femaleWith microchips implanted in their skulls at birth, the slaves of Cantral and Cillineese have labored under the tyrannical rule of the nobles and their computers for centuries. Monica, a noble who avoided the implanting and escaped a death sentence at age 4, is now sixteen and is in hiding. She lives with the slaves inside the walls of the Cantral palace, pretending to be one of them while the slave council plots a way to use her chip-less state to destroy the all-powerful computers that strike down any hint of rebellion. The fate of millions rides on Monica's shoulders. As the only chip-less person in the world, she must find a way to destroy the computers and free Cillineese from the nobles' iron fist before they strike with the ultimate punishment--death for everyone within the city walls.
The talent of writing sure runs in the Davis family and it obviously gets better as it goes down the line. Amanda L. Davis is the award-winning daughter of award-winning father, Bryan Davis. Now, I thoroughly enjoyed Bryan Davis's books, but with Amanda L. Davis's writing I lost actually lost myself in her book and was sad when I finished it. I highly recommend this book to all Christian Fantasy lovers!
