Tell us a little about yourself. Praying through the Psalms is my second book. My first book is a devotional entitled, "365 Days of Hope." I am a tennis teacher and a high school tennis coach. I am a wife and mother of two daughters. I have always enjoyed writing. I am enjoying speaking opportunities and meeting new people and talking about my faith and my books.
What was your motivation behind this project? I have written both of my books to encourage others. My first book is a daily devotional. Each day there is a scripture reading and some words of encouragement. Each month has a theme and the overall message of the book is HOPE. "Praying through the Psalms" begins with Psalm 1 and includes a few verses followed by a prayer. There are some questions for reflection and room to write in thoughts, prayers requests and comments.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope and pray that people would be encouraged by reading the scriptures and spending time in prayer. I pray that their faith would be renewed and strengthened.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? While I was editing "Praying through the Psalms" and getting the book ready to be published, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Reading through the prayers and spending time in the Psalms helped my attitude and actually encouraged me as I was going through a difficult time.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Karen Kingsbury is one of my favorite Christian authors. The Bible was my source of inspiration for both of my books.
