You dont have to face cancer alone
Traumatized and terrified of cancer? Perhaps you have been diagnosed yourself, or you have a friend or family member who is battling with the disease. You know you must face itbut you do not have to face it alone. Praying Through Cancer is a collection of stories by women who have faced cancer and, with triumphant spirits, found comfort and sometimes even joy in the midst of it.
For these women, cancer was a comma, not a period, in the sentences of their lives. Why? Because they put their faith in the Lord and He strengthened them beyond comprehension. You will laugh and you will cry, but best of all, you will know . . . you are not alone.

I was searching for "something" in the early testing days when the word cancer was first uttered to help focus my mind and heart on God during this crisis. This book has exceeded my expectations! I feel as if it is a life line that is tethering me to God as I and my family travel through this disease. The short devotionals are well written and gives words to where my heart is, and the WORD to what God wants to say to me. My husband and I share the devotion together daily as we walk through my Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma to Christ's cure. It is one of the blessings from God in thenmidst of trials.

Tell us a little about yourself. I am a wife, mom, journalist and cancer survivor. I love Christ and love walking with him each day. In my free time, I love to travel and watch my children in sports. I also love to scrap book.
What was your motivation behind this project? Susan and I were very inspired by a book called "31 Days of Praise". As cancer survivors, we were encouraged by God's Word and the experiences of other godly Christians. God literally put this exact concept on each of our hearts - 180 miles apart. The reason it is 90 days is because that is the typically treatment time for a cancer patient.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I pray that people going through cancer will be encouraged...not only that they can make it through but also to trust in the Lord and allow His presence to fill the person each day.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I was so encouraged to see so many women willing to share their stories of faith, of triumph and of hope...from all parts of the country and from different denominations. I was also diagnosed with my second bout of cancer during the final production of the book. It was a spiritual and physical battle for sure. We both saw God's Hand in bringing this book to reality. He truly saw it through and has used it in so many women's lives. We hear from many of them each week. It makes our day!
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? "31 Days of Praise" by Ruth and Warren Myers was a big influence! Also our dear departed friend Judy Asti's "Spiritual Journey Through Breast Cancer" was another wonderful encouragement when we were initially diagnosed. My favorite Christian musical group is "Selah." Their music is just so full of praise and worship!
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Don't forget the last chapter..."A final Word" when reading Praying Through Cancer...it truly is a chapter that brings the whole book together. It's far from "just an epilogue."
