Ancient of Days, Lord of Hosts, El Shaddai, Abba . . . names did more than simply distinguish one person from another, they often conveyed the essential nature and character of a person. This is especially true when it comes to the names of God in the Bible. In Praying the Names of God readers will learn how to study and pray God's names by focusing each week on one of the primary names or titles of God. By incorporating these divine names into their prayers, and learning about the biblical context in which the name was revealed, readers will gain a more intimate understanding of who God is and how he can be relied on in every circumstance of their lives. Praying the Names of God is a unique devotional, one that offers a rich program of daily prayer and study, designed to lead people into fresh encounters with the living God.
This devotional guide focuses on the various names and titles of God, ones that reveal him as our Creator, our King, the Ancient of Days, our Rock, our Refuge, our Fortress. El Shaddai, Elohim, Adonai, El Roi, El Elyon, Yahweh, Abba are just some of the names that can lead us into deeper prayer and a more confident knowledge of the character and nature of God.

This book is just what I was looking for. A book that teaches what the names of God mean, as they are used in the Scripture, and how to pray God's names
I have been using this book as a daily "lesson" during my devotions. It has enriched my prayer time.
It is an easy read.

As a student of the Bible for over 30 years, I have come to love the names of Jesus. When I found the journal last year, I was impressed. This book was absolutely beautifully written; fully researched. The chapter on alpha/omega took my breath away! Read it 3 times! The Son of God chapter was so powerful!! The servant chapter stunned me with its insights. The redeemer chapter was humbling and the I Am chapter - there are not words to tell you what it means to me! I plan to recommend this one to several of my friends and to purchase at least two more copies for gifts - one to my pastor!
Please transmit to Ms. Spangler my sincere appreciation of her ability. I hope she continues to write. I will look forward to reading more of her work soon!

Easy to read and understand. An easy journey into praying the names of GOD. If you are a beginner, you will not remain the same when praying; if you are "seasoned" this is a reminder of whom you are praying to.
