The psalms reveal that prayers can be brutally honest. Real. Authentic. This prayer journal devotional makes that honesty accessible to teens by giving them permission to tell God anything—to pray from the gut.

Tell us a little about yourself. I love playing baksetball, rock climbing, and watching science fiction movies. I live near the mountains of eastern Tennessee.
What was your motivation behind this project? I was searching for resources that really spoke to the issues I was going through, and struggled with as a teen. I couldn't find any that were as gut-level honest as I needed.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Too many of our prayers today are polished or performed. These prayers are raw and real. I wanted to help teens tell God the stuff they really need to talk to him about.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I've been influenced a lot by the Christian mystics. Their connection with God and honesty is refreshing and inspiring.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Be prepared - these are not tidy, cute little prayers. They're gritty, honest, and real.
