What do you say when you pray? It is a question that I have been asked over and over again during the past 14 years that I have pursued the calling to study and teach prayer. The question does not solely come from beginning pray-ers, but from Christians in all stages of their prayer lives and walks with the Lord. The purpose of this book is to answer the question; to take the mystery out of prayer; and to empower pray-ers with the information they need to pray effectively. By the end of this book, readers will understand why we are called to pray and will have the tools to more than adequately answer the call. Ultimately, they will know how to pray prayers that produce God s plans for themselves, their businesses, their community, and their world.

Intense determination to implement God s purpose for her life would describe the character of Pastor Suzette Caldwell. She has committed her life to achieving excellence through biblical living. She strongly believes that any person who is willing to walk by faith and trust God will achieve their dreams and desires. In 1986, Suzette graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. Caldwell s professional career as an environmental engineer in the public and private sector spans over 17 years. As an entrepreneur, she owned TC Consulting Group, Inc., an environmental consulting company. In September 1997, Governor George W. Bush appointed Mrs. Caldwell to the University of Houston System Board of Regents. Presently, she serves as an Associate Pastor for Windsor Village United Methodist Church. In addition, Caldwell serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Kingdom Builders Prayer Institute, a non-profit community-based organization that prays for the Houston metropolitan area and teaches people how to pray. Her service to the community, in addition to her technical career, has better equipped her to empower people to fulfill God s promises for their lives. Suzette is married to Pastor Kirbyjon H. Caldwell. They are the parents of Turner, Nia, and Alexander Caldwell.
