A great collection.

The Puritans were masters of the Bible, and Baxter is one of the 'giants in the land' among them. This volume combines a number of his most soul-searching and helpful writings under one cover. This collection has become known as his 'Practical Works' because of its focus on the matters of the soul and practical Christian living.
The book itself is well-bound and a convenient size. The printing is dark, clear, and a readable size. And at $8.99, this book is a bargain!
The only significant caution to bear in mind is that Baxter is unsound on the doctrine of justification. He was opposed on this front by his contemporaries, but they were also quick to affirm his pastoral heart and the overall biblical faithfulness, usefulness, and value of the rest of his writing.
