You can stay involved in your adult child's life through prayer! As your grownup child steps out into the real world, they will need your prayers more than ever. Through prayer, you can entrust them into God's loving care. Using stories from other parents and insight gleaned from personal experience, Stormie Omartian will help you seek God's guidance regarding your adult children and their career choices, sense of purpose, marriages, parenting skills, leadership, struggles, addictions, faith, and other important decisions they'll have to make. Paperback.
Omartian offers a follow-up to her million-plus seller The Power of a Praying Parent, focusing this time on praying for adult children. “The truth is,” says Omartian, “you never stop being a parent who deeply cares about your child's well-being, no matter what age they are....” She offers 14 things to pray for adult children, including that they find freedom, restoration and wholeness; have a sound mind and right attitude; and be protected and survive in tough times. Each chapter includes Prayer Power—a brief, specific prayer—and Word Power, Scripture verses pertaining to the topic. Fans of Omartian will find more of her chatty, personal style mixed with lists and myriad subtopics throughout; new readers may be put off by repetition and that same chattiness. But all readers will know that Omartian's heart is dedicated to prayer, God's redemptive love and a healthy future for all adult children: “by praying, we can help them to hear from God so He can lead them to do what He wants.” (July 1) Copyright 2009 Reed Business Information.

Praying for our adult children is a great and powerful priviledge. No one can or will pray for our children like us their parents. Just because children are raised and maybe have left our homes, we are still responsible for standing in the gap for them. Stormie Ormartian is a powerful prayer warrior and her book and study guide have opened my eyes to new ways to pray for them. Thank you for such a valuable resource.

I have appreciated all of Stormie's books on prayer. I have faithfully prayed through her book during my young children's life and through their adolescent years, and as they have grown into adults, I was so hoping for something more appropriate. This book is full of hope with testimonies of other parents. It gives you a spring board to pray for your children because it is full of powerful scripture. All of her prayers are based on scripture, and it is so easy to make it your own prayer. I absolutely loved the book and have bought it for friends and have recommended it to many people.

Stormie Omartian, truly has a gift from God. I cried as this book touched my heart, gave me direction, and truly imbeded my Spirit. I highly recommend this book for every parent of adult children. If there is nothing contained for your own use, perhaps you can pray for parents like myself and our adult children who are struggling and our children who have strayed from the Lord.

Awesome help to parents of adult children. Easy to read. Not bogged down by long prayers like some of Stormie's books. More personal life experiences for examples. Very beneficial.

I'm only half through reading this book, but so far, I've found it to be extremely helpful, in changing my attitude towards my adult children, and my prayers for my adult children. I'm using it in conjunction with the study guide. I would definitely buy other studies by this author, Stormie Omartian.

What an encouraging & uplifting resource! With 3 adult children, I had convinced myself that my parenting was over. But Stormie shows very clearly that this is not the case! The devil doesn't want us to latch on to the Power of Prayer because it IS a Great Power from our Heavenly Father! Stormie covers many of the areas where our children struggle & gives specific verses for us to claim. Parents, we must stay on our knees!

I lead a small group of women that meet monthly to pray for their adult children. I will be using this book to help us pray in a more Godly way for our children and their families. Stormie is right on with her guidance and insights for praying. If this issue is a concern, I recommend reading book.
