With poignancy and humor, Gulley writes about small-town life, things he thinks about while sitting in his Quaker meeting, and why Donald Trump should pay more taxes. Porch Talk is a tribute to common folk, including Charlie the hardware priest, the Bettys at the newspaper, and other paragons of decency not many people know, but should.

Ann Linvill5 Stars Out Of 5October 28, 2009Ann LinvillI have not yet finished the book, but what I have read I have really enjoyed. The very first chapter reminded me of my childhood and the house that I grew up in, it had a front porch and many a summer day we spent alot of time sitting out there and talking. When it was hot I even slept out there. Back then they did not have air conditioning in the homes. It is a good book and I highly recommend it for good reading.
