Chaotic Resolve CD

The fourth album release from Plumb ranges from industrial pop -rock to funky dance-ready numbers and heartfelt ballads. Chaotic Resolve includes the hits "I Can't Do This" and "Better" as well as "Cut," "Bittersweet," "Jekyll & Hyde," and more.

Buckle up for this ride…

Plumb, aka Tiffany Arbuckle Lee, has often been compared to bands such as Garbage, The Benjamin Gate and The Cranberries. On her latest release, Chaotic Resolve, Plumb has definitely come into her own. There are still vocal and stylistic comparisons to be made to each of those bands, but her voice and songwriting have matured into a unique overall sound that makes this her best record yet.

Kudos to producer and writing partner Matt Bronleewe (Jars of Clay, Natalie Imbruglia) for helping to expand Plumb’s musical pallet with lush production highlighted by real piano and elaborate string arrangements that were recorded in Prague. Plumb has always used loops, samples and quirky production, but it’s never been put together this cohesively and blended this well. Songs such as “I Can’t Do This” and “Good Behavior” are full of well-crafted keyboards, loops, piano and crunchy guitars that will rock and move you. Then she shows off her mellow side with what’s sure to be a fan fave, the hauntingly beautiful “Jekyll and Hyde,” a song that also has hints of Suzanne Vega, one of Plumb’s main writing influences.

Enjoying this newfound diversity, Plumb beats Gwen Stefani at her own game with the funky dance rock of “Motion.” This is a perfect song for a mainstream video and single at some point. The current single, “Better,” is also the album’s best song—it’s powerful, it rocks, it’s got a hook and it should be huge. Lyrically it’s also the standout track with emotionally bare lines such as “And you say all the things that you’d never meant to say/and try to break me/but in the end what leaves you broken/in the end makes you better.”

Tiffany’s writing seems to have matured by leaps and bounds since her earlier albums. There is a lot going on here, mostly dealing with relationships with her husband, friends and God, singing “I want to be in love with only you/wanna watch the sky turn grey then blue” in the hooky “Blush,” one of her best pop tunes yet.

Still, the most appealing thing about Chaotic Resolve is Tiffany’s voice. It’s never sounded better, and that’s saying something. It has the haunting beauty of a Sarah McLachlan or a Leigh Nash while maintaining that strong rock vocal that she’s known for. In a landscape full of female vocalists and female fronted rock bands, Plumb is the real deal.

I love the sound and so do my four boys. The lyrics are good but with close to no direct references to God. The strength she gets, to get through all the difficult times she faces, could come from God, or from someone else who is special to her. I think she missed an opportunity to spell it all out.

I enjoy all of Plumb's music -- very upbeat and inspirational to me. This is pop/rock at its best. She has a soothing voice and I can listen to her songs, over and over, even though I own numerous CDs. Good music!

This is an incredible cd!!!! I absolutely love it!! It is so full of energy! I like to blast it in my car while driving down the road. She is phenomenal and the music is genius!! I look forward to more from Plumb.

I've long debated buying this cd, but now that I finally have, I'm more than satisfied I did. Plumb has got a rather unique style, ranging from pop to ethereal hard rock. I really like the strings and piano incorporated into the rock songs..it's kind of like Skillet's Comatose album. Anyway, this is definitely an album that's worth buying. And for those of you who-like I was-wondering if this is a good Christian album, you shouldn't be overly disappointed. There are many Biblical themes present, such as forgiveness (Bittersweet, Jekyll and Hyde), admitting we can't make it on our own (I Can't Do This, Good Behavior), redemption (Damaged, Cut), peace (Sleep), full reliance on God and not material things (I Have Nothing), and a sweet song about two friends who are going down different roads, but know that if they are both living for God they'll see each other again someday (Pray For Me). Very impressive cd, and one worth your money.

This CD is awesome! She ranges to so many different genres of music..from pop to rock to techno...Plumb is all around. She's so original with her music; she doesn't sound like anyone...she's just...Plumb!

Amazing lyrics and an incredible voice. Chaotic Resolve offers up a soundscape of romance, faith, fear, despair, and God's strength and beauty amongst the darkest of days. "Plumb" offers the listener a different sound and a different interpretation of God's grace.

This is an excellent cd. I love it! Her music style is so unique and different, compared to other Christian artists. It's nice to have something of a different variety. My favorite tracks on the cd are "Better" "Motion" "Cut" and "I Can't Do This".
