Tell us a little about yourself.  In 1972 two very significant things happened in my life. First, I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Second, I was introduced to the skill of reflective listening. At that time I felt a call to learn to be a better listener so my life would reflect the love of Christ.

What was your motivation behind this project?  For years I have had a passion to help people communicate more effectively. As an elementary school teacher I saw how poorly many parents listened to their children and each other. As a teacher and leader in the church I watched as many Christians hurt others because they did not know how to listen. My wife, Joanne, and I founded People to People Ministries in 2004. Since then we have been conducting seminars to introduce people to the learning styles and teach them how to be a reflective listener. The book was written to help people better understand what we teach in our seminars.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  It is our desire that people will learn to listen to family, friends, acquaintances and strangers. We want to see people set free from burdens that may have plagued them for years. Hopefully, people will be able to share the love of Christ as they genuinely listen to others.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  Reflective listening is one of the greatest ways to demonstrate the love of Christ. In today's world so few people really listen. Learning this skill can save marriages, parent-child relationships, relationships with other family members, relationships at work. More importantly, a good listener may have many opportunities to lead others to Jesus because he/she listened without judging or condemning someone.
