Enjoyed this fun read!
I don't usually read books set in the Wild West but I'm such a fan of Lauraine's I read all of her books! She always has a great storyline with good strong female characters. The is the last in the series and has Cassie deciding to marry Lucas, a man she doesn't love, for her it will be a marriage of convenience. Since arriving at their home Lucas' father notices the changes in him and encourages him to marry Cassie.
Hoping to win enough to pay off her debts she enters shooting contests and is getting pretty good at it. Winter is coming quickly, wedding plans are being made. This may be Cassie's biggest mistake ever or does she change her mind?
I really enjoyed this story, the characters were very likeable, the plot was good. A fun read!

Final Decisions About The Ranch and Romance
Lauraine Snelling in her new book, "A Place To Belong" Book Three in the Wild West Wind series published by Bethany House brings us into the life of Cassie Lockwood.
From the back cover: The Exciting Conclusion to Lauraine Snelling's WILD WEST WIND series
As winter settles over the Engstrom ranch, Cassie Lockwood has a lot on her mind. The way Lucas Engstrom smiles at her should set her heart to tripping. But it doesn't. Shouldn't there be some attraction to him if they are going to be married? His vow to make her love him doesn't seem to be working, no matter how considerate and charming he is. And then there's the look she caught him sending Betsy Hudson at church one Sunday. Are she and Lucas drifting apart?
During a short trip away, Cassie realizes she must make other plans for her future. But what will the Engstroms say when she announces plans to leave the ranch and join a Wild West show?
In "A Place To Belong" Lauraine Snelling brings the whole Wild West Wind series to a conclusion. The title pretty much says it all as this is something that Cassie Lockwood has always wanted. Her life in her father's traveling Wild West Show is over and she has come to love being a part of the ranch with the Engstroms. She was even going to marry Lucas. When that failed Cassie decided it was time to join another Wild West show. However there are others involved and her decision does not just affect herself. "A Place To Belong" is all about finding yourself so that you can also find rest where you are which is something that Cassie needs to learn. All the characters are so easy to fall in love with and Ms. Snelling is such a wonderful writer that we easily get caught up in everyone's life. These are wonderful people and we wish that we had these kind of people for our neighbors. There are no car chases, nothing blows up however "A Place To Belong" is exciting, interesting and will keep you flipping pages as these characters work to deal with their new set of circumstances. I enjoyed this book and while I am sorry to see it end I am looking forward to the new series from the very talented Lauraine Snelling.

Another winner for Lauraine Snelling!
Cassie Lockwood is recovering from her gunshot wound on the Engstrom ranch, which she co-owns. She is learning what it's like to have a home, how to cook and how to take care of a home. Lucas Engstrom declared his love for her before he even met her, he'd seen her in town and fell in love then found out she was a co-owner of their ranch since her father had passed on years ago.
Cassie knows she isn't in love with Lucas but doesn't refuse him, just asks for time to think. She is also learning to have faith in God and asks if she is supposed to marry Lucas. Her feelings are more like brother-sister love not like husband-wife but she does know that a lot of couples actually fall in love after being married for some time. When Cassie finally tells Lucas she'll marry him, it seems like he's acting funny, won't even help to plan the wedding, just keeps saying anything she wants is fine with him.
The wedding is set for New Years Eve and things are falling into place. The morning after a wonderful Christmas it is discovered that Lucas has disappeared and no one knows where he's gone. When he isn't found and doesn't return the wedding is called off.
Now what is Cassie going to do? Will she depend on her arm getting better so she can win some shooting matches, will she find a travelling show to join up with, or will she continue to live in the Engstrom home with no Lucas, feeling like Ransom hates her but Mavis and Gretchen love her and want her to stay?
Lauraine came through again with a great book that you don't want to put down. I love Lauraine's writing style and look for her books whenever I'm online or in a book store. You won't be disappointed with this one at all. Wonderful job Lauraine!

Love Western stories-must read...
A Place to Belong by Lauraine Snelling
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Series Wild West Wind by Lauraine Snelling book #3"A Place to belong"
When their show went bankrupt, Cassie was devastated that her Uncle would let them all go, she left with an old wagon-her horse "Wind Dancer" -George the old buffalo who was gentle as a lamb and little else...Cassie soon found an old letter and realized that her father had been part owner of Bar E Ranch in South Dakota, she had a place to go.
Cassie Lockwood knew all there was to know about a wild west show, how to shoot-working with buffalo and other animals but here in South Dakota where her father Adam had lived and worked she was like a "fish out of water"...Cassie had always yearned for a home in one place and a family to share things with but this was going to take some getting used to.
Lucas Engstrom wanted to court and marry her soon after he met this wonderful pretty girl. He loved her spirit and truth be known they were "kindred spirits" because Lucas was a go getter,he was not happy being at the ranch working each day and would many times find reasons to be gone from the ranch. He was not like his solid take charge responsible brother Ransom, they were as different as night and day. She come to care for the family but knew in her heart of hearts that she cares for Lucas like a brother not a husband. She loved his mother Mavis who becomes like a mentor teaching her all she needs to know about running a home in this wild country. Many a marriage had been good ones on a close friendship that turned to love later through years of working together in a home, could she marry Lucas and become part of the wonderful ranch she is fast coming to love....
Cassie was a quick learner and did many of the chores well but she was more comfortable with her horse "Wind Dancer" whom she had been a trick rider with in the shows then in the home.
As time moves along Cassie feels as if she has found a place to Belong on this ranch with these wonderful people yet her heart yearns for the "Wild West Shows" she had been a part of for so long.
Can she have both? read and learn how hard times shows them they can. I enjoyed reading this series from Lauraine
