an older and a little bit dated re-telling of the timeless Bunyan classic. I found the film overall to be a little bit "strange" and would not really recommend it. It was not bad, just a bit odd, and the age of the film (early 1980s?)made it seem more so, perhaps. Liam Neeson had a small role and was good, but some of the other acting left a bit to be desired . . .

Not worth buying
Our family loves Pilgrim's Progress. Our children 11 & 9 years of age have read through the book at least once and have listened to the audio drama (which is excellent) over and over. We all enjoyed the newer version DVD which was very good--would rate a 5. With that said, this movie was sorely disappointing. The same music over and over was irriatating. The movie was not accurate to the book and our children picked out several instances that were not keeping in line with the book itself. I was mad at myself for wasting the money on this DVD. It really was a poorly made movie. Wouldn't waste my money.

The movie was not what I was expecting. It was far shorter than I wanted, had a long review of the life of John Bunyan at the start (and that made it even shorter), and a very large amount of the book was omitted from the story so it did not flow as well from point to point.

This is an excellent allegory that chronicals the Christian experience I would encourage everyone to see it!
