With our oldest child, we used "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons" successfully with no need for further instruction. With our second child however, we are using these along with "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons" and memorization of the Dolch Words. This is working much better with the ADHD issues we are now encountering. I highly recommend these as your child doesn't have to sit perfectly still as required with book work.
