Terrific JB Phillips uses beautiful, accessible language to communicate the gospel. It seems to go right to the heart and gives me fresh eyes to grasp God's word in a deeper way. Life-giving. January 27, 2013

An refreshing translation to read, but I'm giving ita rating of 2 stars, because the font has letters that are too thick and too close together. I don't recommend you buy this edition. The fontmakes it too hard to read. August 18, 2010

The translation is fresh & highly readable, but it does tend to get a little too paraphrasing. It makes a good reference Bible, but certainly not the Bible of my choice. Keep another literal translation beside it. August 25, 2005
