Product Description

Anna Olsen knows it's time to leave her sister's increasingly crowded house and start a life of her own. Following her sisters' examples, she becomes a mail-order bride, and after a short correspondence with clock maker and jeweler Edward Parker, she moves to Denver to become his wife. Almost immediately it's painfully apparent that Anna and Edward are very different. Anna is a free spirit who would rather be painting and enjoying the company of friends than cleaning house. Edward is a consummate perfectionist who, on their wedding day, hands Anna a list of chores that need to be done around the house daily.

Can this mismatched couple see past their differences to a harmonious future? Or will their disparate passions create obstacles neither is willing to surmount?

I enjoyed the first 2 Blue Willow books, but this last one was so sappy I kept laying it down. It would have appealed to a teen reader, but was just too unbelievable for me to enjoy.

I agree with you, Maria, too much detail in the intimacy. Also, Anna never seemed to mature to Edwards level. He had to just learn to tolerate her childishness to retain her love.

I like to see the main characters reach a level of Christian maturity by the end of the book. Anna never got there.

I think this book was nice. not as good as the first one in the series, though, but still good. I agree with another reviewer that there was too much intimacy. I kept wishing the author would cut out all that lovey-dovey stuff and get on with the story. Hence I skipped over a lot of the lovemaking. I don't like that stuff in a book. it's unnecessary, especially for Christian fiction. I also disliked anna's immaturity and her endless collecting of animals. it was annoying and frankly, it made the book boring. She was so childish and silly, and I don't know how she ended up with a mature, albeit perfectionist husband. Anna really brought the story down. The heroine was totally annoying and not someone I could relate to at all.

I enjoyed this last book in the Blue Willow Series. The free-spirited youngest sister becomes a mail-order bride, just like her two older sisters. She bites off a little more than she can chew when she marries an OCD clock maker. She's more adventurous than he is so she really adds some spice to his life. Their love blossoms after the marriage, as is the case with a mail-order bride story, and their faith in God blossoms, as well. I can't wait for Maggie's next book! A word of caution: there are some PG-13ish scenes in the book that might not be suitable for young pre-teen girls. So moms might want to make sure they read it first. I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
