This has been a verse the Lord has kept on my heart for the last several years. If we as God's people humble ourselves and pray, turn from our wicked ways, God is always faithful. We have an opportunity to be a part of what the Lord is doing. What a privilege! Regardless of what we might see going on in the world, the Lord is always in control. Our opportunity of praying for our nation, our leaders, ourselves will not go without benefit. A benefit of seeing God working in ways we may not understand or in ways we would not have chosen. But as long as they are God's ways, those ways will never be wrong. I plan on using this little book past the 40 days as a daily devotional throughout the whole year. Then I'll sit back and watch what the Lord will do. Praise to Him always.
I started this on Jan 1 and I look forward to every day for the inspirational scriptures and devotional to get my day started. Very pertinent scriptures for these times in our lives and the world around us.
It is up to us, His people, no one else. Our nation is obviously in trouble but we should not look at those who appear to be 'messing things up.' We should look instead at ourselves, those who are called by His name, and at our churches, where those who are called by His name gather. If we are not humbling ourselves, praying, and seeking His face then He will not heal our land. An excellent and timely prayer guide.
