gnncy4 Stars Out Of 5Worthy but neglected life storiesMarch 30, 2015gnncyQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3I was glad to see biographies of several persons who are not well-known and not generally covered elsewhere. The writing style is accessible and engaging. More evangelical-pedantic than I would like, but interesting and informative.
Reader!!4 Stars Out Of 550 People Every Christian Should KnowMarch 14, 2015Reader!!Quality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Because of the number of people being reviewed, this book only gave glimpses of each person but enough info to whet one's appetite to further investigate their lives and accomplishments or not. Wiersbe includes a section in the back called Further Reading for those who wish to dig deeper into the lives of the people included in his book. He has an easy reading style which make for fast but enjoyable reading. Wiersbe needs to compile another volume of 50 additional people who can also inspire readers to seek the joys and aspirations of Christian living.
JannAge: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 550 People Every Christian Should KnowJanuary 21, 2015JannAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5A very informative book! So often we think of ministers and other people of God as being somehow different from us - not true! This book explains how so many of them have lived simply and with a passion to serve the Living God while "doing life" just like us! Amazing and well worth the time! It has sure helped my perspective regarding some of these great people of God.
pebblesIndianaAge: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent bookJanuary 14, 2015pebblesIndianaAge: Over 65Gender: femaleI think this should be a must read for every serious person attending church. To me it was astounding how many hours these Christians spent in Bible study & prayer. Think what could happen to our world if all of us were as faithful! It's a shame on all of us that we are not.
