...am interested to note that the greatest preacher in UK history is not mentioned: John Wesley (who arguably helped shape British history averting republicanism at the time of the French Revolution, through the Great Awakening of which he was the brightest light). Indeed from the look of most of those included in the list, there sadly and disappointingly seems to be for the most part - a distinctly calvinistic flavour.

For those of us who know our history this is intelligently devisive - and lacking in any genuine historical or spiritual integrity.

I write this as someone, one of whose ancestors was converted at the pithead at Kingswood Colliery by a word delivered by John Wesley from horse back. It is also interesting to note that George Mueller is absent from the list, not to mention Charles Wesley...

This begs the question: is this yet another attempt by the 'Reformed Movement' to airbrush Christian history. Thank God He keeps the true account!

    Alan Bryant.

I've always enjoyed Mr. Wiersbe's writing and this is another wonderful book! I would highly recommend this one, especially if you like history and biographies.

I purchased this to read with my kids as part of our Bible time. We cover one person each week. Some weeks have been very dry and difficult to read through. We like the biographies that include family information and growing up information. It is also interesting to see how the paths crossed for many of these people.

My children are 4th-7th grade. Based on each of their personalities is how they react to the stories. It gives us great examples we can learn from. We can learn from these Christians about how we should pursue Godly choices and a Godly life.

I think the price here on CBD is really good too, so bonus!

I gave it a 4 based on the biographies that are really difficult to read through because there isn't much information to build them up to a relatable character. 5 stars on the fun to read people.

Warren Wiersbe's review of our great Christian giants of the past brings great insight to our faith in dealing with today's problems.
