Great idea for a gift!
Eat Your Peas Daughter, A little wisdom and a lasting promise! by Cheryl and Mom Karpen was so cute! I couldn't wait to read the book and then give it as a gift to my daughter who is in 4th grade.
I was drawn to this book because it was so cute and pink! Don't let the book fool you by the small size because it gives plenty of tidbits of wisdom that are encouraging to the reader. The appearance alone draws the reader in. The words of wisdom on the pages are short and sweet. There are tidbits such as, "Begin each day with thoughts that bring out the best in you...Today I will... Yes, I can..I am grateful for..." and "Sometimes life doesn't go as planned and not getting what we want becomes a blessing in disguise. There is a plan for you. Have faith. Be patient, and most of all, Believe." The book contains biblical quotes, Psalm 127:3, Children are a gift from the Lord... and Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord.
I loved the book and can't wait for my daughter to open her Easter Basket.

Wow! What a treasure!
Such a thin book. Not much at all on the pages. I didnâÂÂt really expect much from it but let me tell you-this book is a powerhouse.
It is touted as a âÂÂ3 minute forever book.â And boy is it.
As I read the sparce but mighty pagesâÂÂI could feel feelings stirring within me. It brought tears to my eyesâ¦so much so that I could barely finish reading.
When Cheryl and Mom Karpen wrote this, I believe God was speaking to their hearts. The simple yet beautiful illustrations by Sandy Fougner were divinely inspired. That would be the only explanation for how something so simple, so basic, yet beautiful could be so powerful and touch a heart like it does.
I made an inscription for my daughter, who will be given this treasure, which sums it all up.
âÂÂThis book reached into my very soul and said everything that was in my heart!âÂÂ
I believe that the words were straight from GodâÂÂs heart, modeling the fierce love that He has for us all.
This book is a âÂÂmust giveâ to your daughter or someone who has been put in your life to nurture as a daughter. ItâÂÂs something tangible which will serve as a constant reminder of the love that you and God, have for them.
Just as we tell our children âÂÂEat your peas-theyâÂÂre good for you,â we can pass on these eternal truths, spiritual peas, if you will, to that special girl in your life.

Sweet Gift Book
Today I received and completed reading Eat Your Peas Daughter by Cheryl and Mom Karpen. It is illustrated by Sandy Fougner. This is a gift book from a mother to her daughter. Taking just three minutes to read, the pages are filled with simple but inspiring messages to girls. The page quality is very impressive, more thick than typical and lightly textured. The illustrations are sweet and quite girly. I quickly got the impression that this book would be like getting many birthday cards in one collection. The messages are encouraging, uplifting and simply sweet.

They are words of affirmation and praise, encouragement and love. But most of all, a promise...a promise to be there whether going through joyful times or painful setbacks.
