Superb read
A friend recommended this book to me and I found it to be a riveting story. A bit slow in the beginning, as you sort out the characters and get into the time period but Oh! so worth it. This book is a beautiful story for anyone, but especially for your daughters (not too young as it was a hard time period!), to encourage them to wait for God's best despite feelings and emotions.

Pearl Maiden is a tale of courage and bravery set in the faith-testing times during the destruction of Jerusalem and 70 A.D. Miriam's courage is sorely tried as she is mercilessly persecuted for her faith in Jesus. Her heart is also yearning for a man she can't marry because he isn't a Christian.A story which will enthrall and fascinate all ages.Though there is some violence this book is a must read for Christians and non-Christians alike. Two thumbs up for CLP and H. Rider Haggard!

Good historical novel for older young women. I definitely would not give this to ones under sixteen, though. Never to a twelve-year-old.

Pearl Maiden Brings to life a period of time which I have otherwise found dull. It reconstructs a clear view of the time, while keeping hold of your interest, and intriguing you with its wonderful combination of characters. The book has been enjoyed more by young female readers, but will entertain most. I give this book five stars.
