Product Description

Denise George, longtime Christian speaker and author, sent a survey to hundreds of Christian women asking "What do you wish your pastor knew about women in the church?" As a result of that survey, this book was written as an aid to pastors to help them understand the unique needs of women.

Publisher's Description

This book will open your eyes to the needs, frustrations, dreams, and potential of your church’s greatest resource—the 60 percent of its members who provide far more than 60 percent of what keeps it going. The women of your church think the world of you, pastor. But they deeply wish you understood a few things about them that can make an enormous difference to their well-being and that of your church. From the findings of her personal survey of hundreds of Christian women, Denise George shares with you unique, long-overdue insights about things that have left you scratching your head. Better still, you’ll find out what you can actually do about • The tiredness and the hurts of women • Their longing for friends, fellowship, and spiritual growth • Their concerns for their marriages and their children • Your impact on them • Respecting the ways women differ from men • Helping women fulfill their need to give to the church … and much more.

I found the book very interesting. I also found that my Pastor pretty well fills the needs of the women in our church and also many of the subjects presented in the book. I did give the book to my Pastor after I finished it.

Denise George has done a wonderful job at articulating the hopes, hurts, needs and dreams of Women in the Church Today. Too many excellent Pastors have placed the true needs of the women in their congregations on the back burner. Given the life of a pastor the back burner NEVER is reached. I have know some Pastors who simply make a decision NOT to engage the women of their church on any meaningful level. Too often the result is a group of women, affected by the fall and having no male leadership who become manipulative, devisive and worse. THEN the pastor will get involved, the outcome Christ is not honored, God is not glorified, and the body is scarred........ Pastors PLEASE read this book.

As a pastor over 6 churches, I can say this book was an eye opener for me. It has inspired me to use it in open discussions with the women in order to encourage them to respectfully and honestly express their feelings and needs.Since it is a survey of hundreds of woman, its findings give outstanding insight. I highly recommend it to all church leaders.

The pages of this book are filled with the real reason women in our churches are frustrated; men are disengaged. I have given the book an above 0 rating only due to the fact that Mrs. George accurately reports on what women are saying. I do recommend reading this book as it relates to what women are experiencing. Pastor, the solutions can be found in helping the men of your church find Christ and mature in Him. If our churches truly want to minister to women and children it is imperative to re-engage men. Check out Why Men Hate Going to Church by David Murrow.
