Discover Echoes Curriculum

Discover a culturally relevant, Gospel-based Sunday school curriculum that emphasizes the inclusiveness of people of color throughout biblical history.

Echoes supports the African American church by including African-American history, cultural references and relevance into the Bible curriculum. All ages from toddler to adult share the same quarterly themes so that families and friends learn the same Bible truths. Echoes curriculum is theologically sound, Bible-based, and comprehensive to support various kinds of learning styles.

Distinctives

Bible Translation: Uses NIV; Adult Comprehensive Bible Study contains parallel KJV & NIV
Time frame: 60 minutes, with added activities for more time if necessary.
Format: Classroom Setting
Ages: Toddlers (2 years) to Adult
Scope & Sequence:
- 2 Years for Toddler, Preschool & Early Elementary
- 3 Years for Elementary to High School (Unified themes from Elementary through High School)
- 6 Years for Adult Comprehensive Bible Study (follows ISSL/Uniform Series)
- 8 Years for Adult Understanding the Bible series

Toddlers / 2s (18 - 36 months of age)

Note: This teacher's guide is used in both Bible-in-Life and Echoes toddler curricula.

Give toddlers and two-year-olds a multi-sensory Sunday school experience. As a first introduction to faith, lessons are designed to help teachers and volunteers set up learning activities that present the Bible story while the children move around, explore, and play. Equipped with teacher preparation, visual aids, a music CD with audio Bible stories, and crafts, the toddler curriculum is the perfect resource for building faith in little ones.

In the classroom, you'll use:
- One Teacher's Guide per teacher
- One Creative Teaching Aids per classroom
- One My Starting Steps craft & take-home book per student

Preschool (Ages 3 - 5)

The Preschool Teacher Commentary gives you Welcome Time Activities, the four steps of Bible learning and application, plus Extra Time activities. Additional Understanding the Bible sections provide background information about the passage used. Teacher tips share insights about understanding preschoolers, with concrete suggestions for enhancing their Sunday school experience. Every lesson presents an interactive Bible story, review activities, and memory verse practice and encourages children to remember the day's Bible truth during the week.

In the classroom, you'll use:
- One Teacher's Commentary per teacher
- One Creative Teaching Aids per classroom
- One Make It Take It in-class activity booklet per student

Early Elementary (Grades K & 1)

Help teachers understand kindergartners and first graders with helpful suggestions for enhancing their Sunday school experience. The lessons guide pre-session and post-session activities plus the four-step lesson plan provide everything teachers need:
- Life Need: an activity and a time of sharing to help kids actively participate in the classroom, build relationships with each other and the teacher, and prepare for the Bible story
- Bible Learning: includes the Bible Story and Bible Story Review questions plus an activity to present and review the Bible passage
- Bible Application: incorporates Bible Memory Verse Practice and a craft that reinforces the Bible story and how it applies to the student
- Life Response: an application step to help kindergarteners and first grade students take what they have learned into the rest of the week at home

In the classroom, you'll use:
- One Teacher's Commentary per teacher
- One Creative Teaching Aids per classroom
- Make It Take It in-class student craft book - one per student
- Storytime take-home book - one per student

Elementary (Grades 2 & 3)

The easy four-step lesson plan for elementary students includes:
- Life Need: motivational lesson starters
- Bible Learning: engaging Bible stories, review activities, memory verse practice (includes Bible Words, Bible Story, Bible Review, and depending on the lesson, the Memory Verse)
- Bible Application: fun student activities (may include the Memory Verse)
- Life Response real-life applications-includes a prayer time and, depending on the lesson, the Memory Verse

In the classroom, you'll use:
- One Teacher's Commentary per teacher
- One Creative Teaching Aids per classroom
- Bible Discoveries in-class student book for Bible learning - one per student
- Discovery Pack in-class student craft book - one per student

Upper Elementary (Grades 4 & 5)

The easy four step lesson plan for preteens includes:
- Life Need: to get preteens engaged with the topic of the week
-Bible Learning: where preteens will read the week's Bible passage, answer questions, and discuss
- Bible Application: in which the teacher has three choices for activities that will help preteens explore the Bible lesson in-class
-Life Response: where preteens will take ownership of putting into practice that week's Bible principle

In the classroom, you'll use:
- One Teacher's Commentary per teacher
- One Creative Teaching Aids per classroom
- Bible Adventures in-class student book for Bible study- one per student

Middle School (Grades 6-8)

The Teacher's Commentary features Understanding the Bible, Understanding Your Students, interactive & engaging activities, and discussion starters. It also employs the four-step learning plan modified for physical, emotional, and spiritual changes of middle school students:
- Life Experience: a life need to get tweens & young teens engaged with the topic of the week
- Studying God's Word: a Bible learning step where tweens & young teens read the week's Bible passage, answer questions, and discuss
- Applying God's Word: the teacher has three choices for activities that will help tweens & young teens explore the Bible lesson in-class
- Responding to God's Word: a life response step, where tweens & young teens will take ownership of putting into practice that week's Bible principle

In the classroom, you'll use:
- One Teacher's Commentary per teacher
- One Creative Teaching Aids per classroom
- The Rock in-class & take-home booklet - one per student

High School

Teachers employ the easy four-step lesson plan as they teach high school students to take ownership of their faith:
- Life Need: an intro step to get teens engaged with the topic of the week
- Bible Learning: the Bible study portion where teens will read the week's Bible passage, answer questions, and discuss
- Bible Application: the teacher has three choices for activities that will help teens explore the Bible lesson in-class
- Life Response: teens will take ownership of putting into practice that week's Bible principle

You'll need one Teacher's Commentary per class and one Echoes High School Blueprint book per student.

Adult Comprehensive Bible Study

Inspire adults, promote community, and challenge people to grow spiritually. The Comprehensive Bible Study is a best-selling Sunday school curriculum that follows the International Sunday School Lectionary (ISSL) / Uniform Series. Equip adults to build a deeper understanding of Bible principles and encourage them toward in-depth participation and life application. This has a classroom model with additional online resources and six-year scope and sequence.

Teaching Resources Include:
- Teacher's Resource Kit includes one Teacher's Guide and one Creative Teaching Aids (each also available separately)
- Student Guide - one per student. Available in Large Print and Regular Print sizes.

Adult Understanding the Bible

Understanding the Bible series provides a quarterly, expositional study of each book of the Bible. Anyone wanting to study the Bible is equipped to build a deep understanding of Scripture through this curriculum. The series is perfect for small groups, Sunday school classes, or as an individual study. Classroom model with eight-year scope & sequence.
