Julia has always been intrigued by the natural world around her, particularly her outings to the cavern near her father's homestead. Then one day an intruder steals the rope she uses to find her way back up and she is trapped.

Rafe has spent years keeping his family's cattle ranch running, but because of his controlling ways his brothers soon run off. He has been haunted by a terrible day in the cave on the corner of his property, and when he is ready to put the past behind him by visiting it one last time, he discovers a woman trapped in one of the tunnels! Will the relationship that develops between them flourish? Or will Rafe be forced to choose reconciliation with his brothers instead?
