This is one of the most refreshing books I've read in a long time. And enjoyable. Starting out with a scholarly analysis of secularism, it's roots and implications, Mr. Abernathy makes a very powerful statement about the stark contrast between secularism as a "religious" worldview that denies the supernatural, and theistic religions which accept divine explanations (Christian and others). I've never read anyone else who so clearly lays out the distinctions between a worldview that believes in physical laws only (secularism) and those that believe in the unversal reality of both physical and metaphysical laws. His explanation of "borrowed" principles (secularism borrowing principles from a Christian worldview in order to try to make sense of reality, even though those borrowed principles violate the consistent secular worldview) is very insightful. In the later part of the book, Abernathy's topical essays on current events are a practical, easier read, but help provide consistent, real-world application of the concepts explained earlier. This book is strongly recommended to anyone who wants to understand the real implications of secularism and its direct opposition to Christianity.
