Publisher's Description

"Operation Jonah" is a fictionalized account of the true story of one child's abduction and the community that mobilized to find him and bring him home. Surrounded by escalating violence in Africa, Bible translators Scott and Debra Warrington's worst fears are realized when their 14-month-old adopted son, Dominic, is snatched from their arms. The story makes international headlines, draws attention from heads of states, and sends shockwaves through the Warringtons' multi-racial community of friends. Outraged, ordinary people rally together and find themselves pitted against extraordinary opposition: an international crime syndicate, an impotent police force, corrupt officials, and a bitter biological father.

Author Bio

Elisabeth Miller first dreamed of caring for African orphans when she was nine years old. After finishing school, working for two years with the Salvation Army, and volunteering in refugee camps in Hong Kong and Thailand, Elisabeth's dream came true. From 1985 to 2008 she worked and lived as a missionary in Africa. She has traveled through minefields, lived in the midst of civil unrest, and found herself on the wrong end of a gun barrel three times. When the adopted child of her missionary friends was kidnapped, Elisabeth used her experience documenting and photographing Youth With A Mission missionaries' experiences to document the event.

This review was written for Operation Jonah.
Operation Jonah is a fast paced action novel that will keep you riveted until the end. The short chapter format of the book allows the story to unfold as a comfortable read. The story is even more poignant considering that it is based on a true story - a story that reveals the power of African Ubuntu where a community works together to achieve a worthy cause. It is a book that you will enjoy reading but prepare yourself for the tension and drama. I look forward to reading Elisabeth's next book.

Once I picked up 'Operation Jonah", I couldn't put it down. I was so impressed by the high standard in which Elizabeth Miller tells this heart wrenching story. A remarkable true story, told in a way that brings honour to the family and all who lived these horrendous three days. It is a testimony to the power of God's goodness in a nightmare situation, where evil and bitterness became tools for the devil to "kill steal and destroy'. All the reviews and quotes on the book cover are inspiring and do the book justice.I particularly loved Mvula J Mvula's review as it gave me the courage to face the book "Justice reigned and virtue triumphed over evil as a direct result of people uniting for a moral cause" I highly commend this book to you.
