Ty1 Stars Out Of 5May 1, 2010TyThe problem with this book is that it is poorly argued and self contradictory. The NFP method is a form of birth control. The author's eventually rejected their own position. For a better treatment of birth control, see Bryan C. Hodge, "The Christian Case Against Contraception: Making the Case From Historical, Biblical, Systematic, and Practical Theology & Ethics" (Eugene, Oregon: Wipf & Stock, 2010).
Keri Wright5 Stars Out Of 5February 25, 2009Keri WrightI'm a big reader and this was a life changing book for me, one of the best things I've ever read.
Ashley Dixon3 Stars Out Of 5January 27, 2009Ashley DixonI thought the book was a good, Biblical sound viewpoint into something that is "culturally" not accepted today. I was not sure if the Natural Family Planning is Biblical or not, though. Overall, I liked the book. It motivated me to research the topic more in depth.
Vanessa Peters5 Stars Out Of 5August 13, 2003Vanessa PetersThis book is a perfect little size to read in one sitting, or by chapters with your spouse as a devotion. It is also ideal for passing along to almost any friend or family member without feeling like you've given them too much too read or something that is too "high brow". It is intellectually stimulating and pleasurable; profound, yet simple; refreshing, but still convicting. While strong and direct, the Torodes manner of communicating their ideas is not offensive or proud. So, even though I had some points of disagreement, I was not turned off. Overall, this book articulates the truth that has been on my heart waiting to be heard. Thank you, Sam and Bethany, for getting the word out and not letting your age inhibit you from speaking God's truth. I'm going to order several copies to start passing out!
Gary Kersey1 Stars Out Of 5April 9, 2003Gary KerseyIt's gotten way beyond tiring listening to the anti-contraceptive crowd as they try to align their own self interests with scripture. I have a real original message for you - let's try and love the people that are around us now - the poor, the hungry, the homeless. It's sad to see the gullible once again make a diety out of the god of fertility.

Tell us a little about yourself. We live and work at home in rural Wisconsin, with our newborn son.
What was your motivation behind this project? Growing up in Evangelical households, neither of us was taught to oppose contraception on principle. But as we prepared for marriage, we realized that in order for love to flourish, we would have to grow in knowledge and respect for each other's bodies--not just our minds and souls. We wondered: shouldn't the female fertility cycle, which was created by God, be respected when it comes to sex? Is it healthy to suppress fertility through artificial methods? Our book describes how we came to answer these and other questions.
