    Each day of the year has a special theme where the bible verse, called "Royal Words" is relevant to the initial theme of the day. Following the bible verse is "Princess Thoughts," a brief and easy to understand lesson based on the scripture for the day. "A Prayer for the King" follows, and these prayers are brief, simple and clear. "Princess in Action" is an application where the child can actively participate in a fun activity to apply what she has learned in her daily devotion. These activities are creative and give a little princess extra quality time with her parent(s).

    My Princess Devotions is a beautifully illustrated, easily understood application for preschool and kindergarten girls. The appearance is "all girl" with princesses depicted on the cover and throughout the book, the use of pinks and purples which are generally a little girl's favorite colors, and what little girl doesn't imagine herself to be a princess? While some may look at the "princess" theme as a negative connotation, the use of this theme is more importantly a means to show the child that she is special, not only in our eyes, but in God's eyes. Every little girl is a daughter of the King, a princess!

    This sweet book is an excellent tool for parents to use in helping their little girls understand who God is, what he has done for us, and the way that he teaches us to live for him. Using this book with our little girls is a beautiful way to spend time together in both a spiritual way and having fun together. My little granddaughter will love this book!

    This daily devotional book is a great way to introduce and teach young girls how important it is to read God's word each day. Although the title targets "preschool," I believe you can easily share this with 1st and 2nd graders; especially because each devotion is short and early elementary would probably enjoy "reading" along with you. The cover of the book is really quite pretty and will be very attractive to young girls because it shows two little princesses. The inside pages are just as pretty. They are different shades of pink with stars, flowers, and hearts on the pages. The graphic design of the book is well done and very pretty.

    Though the cover is well designed, I found that the content was just as enjoyable. As the back cover stated, each daily devotion is divided into four sections: "Royal Words" - scripture; "Princess Thoughts" - a short message directed at your own little princess; "A Prayer for the King" - training the little ones to talk with God; and "Princess in Action: - teaching how we can put feet to our prayers. I really liked this division because it would allow you to just touch one item on the page if you little one is restless or just wants to flip pages.

    Another reason I enjoyed this devotional book is that it helps us adults begin to teach our young girls their value in the Lord and how God sees them as His little princesses. In a world that is constantly showing our young girls/teenagers/adult women that they are not good enough unless they "look a certain way," we need to grab onto God's ideal of a princess instead of the world's.

    The only drawback I could see for some people is that author has chosen to use different translations for the scripture references. For me, this was absolutely not a problem because it can provide an opportunity for you to look it up in your Bible and read along with the book. Children need simplicity and I did not find any scripture reference that was "twisted." It is our responsibility to introduce our children to the Word of God and this one-year devotional can aid you in doing this.

    I have no hesitation in recommending this book for any family. It is a beautifully illustrated book with sweet devotions targeted for our girls! (rev. P.Howard)

    Having two girls (currently 6 and 4), I am always looking for good books that I can use with them to build scriptural knowledge and invest in their faith development, so when I was given the opportunity to review the One Year My Princess Devotions Preschool Edition I was excited to have another tool in my tool box. Unfortunately, the book didn't live up to my (or my daughter's) expectations.

    Divided into 365 daily readings, the book selects a single verse, assigns, it a topic, then presents what it calls "Princess Thoughts", a prayer, and a conclusion referred to as "Princess in Action." Overall, though, the thoughts, prayer, and action sections are short and shallow - even for pre-schoolers, each section ranging in length from just a single sentence to perhaps as many as four sentences. But there is no context given for the verse, and little effort is made to tell the story of scripture. If you're looking for a devotional to use with your kids, this leaves much to be desired. While it may supplement other training you do, I certainly can not recommend it to stand on its own. I'll keep it on my shelf and use it more for topical issues as they arise, but other than that it's not something I will regularly pull down to use and, more tellingly, it's not something my girls run to and get when it's time for devotions.

    Overall, I'll give this book a 2/5 stars. For the record, I did receive a complementary copy of the book from the publisher in exchange for an honest, though not necessarily favorable, review.

    In my opinion it is never too early to begin teaching your children to study God's Word. The One Year My Princess Devotions: Preschool Edition is the perfect way to begin that habit with your sweet little girl.

    Each day's reading is short and sweet so as not to lose the attention of your little one. The scripture selection (Royal Words) is simple enough that your little girl can easily repeat it after you. The Princess Thoughts section is written in an easily understood description so as to help you apply what the scripture means. The prayer suggestion (A Prayer for the King) can again be easily repeated by your girl.

    The daily devotions are designed to be done during the morning or afternoon so that your little princess can complete the task assigned for the day (Princess in Action). The activities again are simple but have a wonderful application to the scripture of the day.

    I am completely thrilled with this book. I'm looking forward to introducing the little girls in my life to it. The author, Karen Whiting, has a fabulous Pinterest board dedicated completely to Princess parties. You should check it out for great ideas to supplement the book!

    I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

    What little girl doesn't like princesses?!? As a mom of 3 rowdy boys and one grown daughter, I was so excited to read this new book. It brought out the inner princess in me! And I am one day (way far down the road!) hoping to have adorable granddaughters to read this book to!

    The cover is two adorable princesses and it just invites you to open up and read. There is one page for each day of the year, and each day has the following sections:

    ROYAL WORDS {A short scripture verse}

    PRINCESS THOUGHTS {A short thought about the verse}

    A PRAYER FOR THE KING {Specific words to pray in relation to the scripture}

    PRINCESS IN ACTION {How to apply this verse to everyday life}

    Each page is short and to the point. Each day is the perfect length for a preschoolers attention span. I would recommend this devotion book for your royal princess. It would be a great way to start or end any day of the week.
