One Night with the King is the newest big screen adaptation of an Old Testament story – this time, the story of Esther. It is produced by Gener8Xion Entertainment (Omega Code 1 & 2) and directed by Michael O. Sajbel (The Ultimate Gift). Not only does it star Tiffany Dupont (TV’s Bedford Diaries) and Luke Goss (Blade II), but such big screen notables as Omar Sharif (Doctor Zhivago), Peter O’Toole (Lawrence of Arabia) and John Rhys-Davies (The Indiana Jones and Lord of the Rings Trilogies).
One Night with the King is a major disappointment. Not only does it waste its remarkable cast, but its great locations and beautiful sets, as well. The corny dialogue and incoherent editing are two readily noticeable deficiencies. On top of that, the writers have filled out the factual, biblical account of Esther with extreme fictional liberties that could create harmful confusion in the viewer as to what is true or untrue. This most obviously occurs in the ridiculous and counter-biblical backstory of Haman.
All in all, One Night with the King is another Gener8Xion Entertainment debacle. They’ve wasted talent, money and time on what could have been a stirring biblical epic in more capable hands. Sadly, secular Hollywood could have done better. – Todd Burgett

AS a love story this is exceptional. So terrible romantic and the actors, costumes were lovely. The setting of the Indian Temple as a castle was a special touch. As a Jewess I was disappointed in the fact that the young lady was so Western. My people are semetic. Haddas would have had to adjust by marriage to our enemy. But I am pleased that other nations think well of my people and support us as a nation.

This was a great movie. It was ver romantic, and yet put it into perspective. The acting was great and the music and effects were awsome!

I am looking forward to watching this but received Amazing Grace instead. That's another great film.

I just love this movie. It's awesome - how one woman is so courageous to save her people not to mention the awesome love story between her and her King.

Great movie, very well portrayed. Wonderful love story as well as portraying the reason hayman had such hatred for the jewish people. I never really knew where hayman came from until I saw the begining of this movie.

I am studied Esther in a Beth Moore study and I enjoyed the movie. I guess the scene where she goes to the throne in her nightclothes may be inaccurate. But I found the love of God to protect His people for the Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ. I also thought that the love story was beautiful and Haman hated the Jews. Didn't you read about his ancestry?
