Lynn5 Stars Out Of 5Great for small churchesOctober 2, 2015LynnQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5We use this material for our Junior Church program. It is easy to use and keeps the children interested. The interactive exercises keep the children's attention and the little crafts are not too involved to complete quickly. Since we have several people who volunteer in this program, it provides easy-to-use material that doesn't require the strict continuity of just one teacher. Our church is small and the children are various ages--this material keeps them all involved. This series provides just what our small church needed.

I love how you can tailor the lesson from a whole class setting down to a short 10 minute devotional. Perfect for our group!

We have between 2 and 15 children at a time, ranging in age from 5 to 11 though we occasionally have ages 2-13. This is the most economical resource for us because it serves multiple ages well, requires only craft supplies likely on hand, and includes different learning styles so everyone gets something out of it. For the teachers, we have found this very easy to implement so that good programs for the children can be thrown together last minute (5 minutes before children arrive) or excellent programs planned in less than an hour.
The only color in this resource is the cover but we like that it keeps the cost down. We have the children color the reproducibles themselves. To adapt the stories to all ages and engage the children, we add some relevant commentary and frequently ask questions. Children who do understand a more advanced concept/word get to share and teachers can ensure that everyone understands the story. Everyone loves the games and skits. It has worked very well for us.
LynnMMauldin, SCAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Good Children's BookMarch 16, 2011LynnMMauldin, SCAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 3Meets Expectations: 3This book has great ideas for activities/crafts that go along with the Bible story. Unfortunately, the story at the beginning is suitable for an adult or an older student, not young kids. That's okay, but when you're reading to young kids, you want a storybook with bright pictures and simple wording to engage them to go along with the crafts, etc. You have to hope you can find a children's Bible with the referenced story in it. We're using this for our Wednesday evening program for kids aged 3-10.
