Once Upon a Summer is a very lovely and beautiful story in one boy's life. The characters are realistic, relatable, even from ninety or so years ago, and very developed. Janette Oke has a wonderful talent for writing good stories, and I was very surprised with how well she was able to portray a story from a young boy's point of view. The descriptions were colorful and creative, the emotions of the characters were very real, genuine, and true, making them even more real. And the spirituality of the book made it even more meaningful. I absolutely enjoyed this book! I believe it can touch all age ranges, and everyone can take something away from it. Well done, Janette Oke!
