Author BioLeanna Ellis, formerly known to readers as Leanna Wilson, sold more than one million romance books and won numerous awards before taking a new creative direction with her much-acclaimed 2007 novel, Elvis Takes a Back Seat. She lives with her family in Keller, Texas. Publisher's WeeklyReaders may be confused about whether Ellis, who has sold more than a million romance novels under the name Leanna Wilson, is creating a sci-fi thriller, a mother-daughter drama, or a love story. Ellis weaves an engaging tale that finally settles down into a love story with a bit of conspiracy theory thrown in. Bryn Seymour was nine when her mother died on the same day Apollo 11 landed on the moon. Forty years later, she stumbles across new information and heads to Texas to track down a man who knew her mom. Was she involved in NASA spying? Are Howard Walterss suspicions about NASA coverups true? What does he know about her moms death? And what about sparks that fly between Bryn and Howards son, Sam? Readers will appreciate Elliss humor and witty dialogue, and some will relish remembering the Apollo years as she slowly reveals the details of Jennifer Seymours death and Bryns healing from it. Ellis bounces through this novel with periods of levity and seriousness, fluency and stuttering. (Mar.) Copyright 2010 Reed Business Information

Located in: United States Submitted: July 31, 2010 Tell us a little about yourself. I'm a wife, mom and writer. And that means--BUSY. Like most moms. I also have a wacky imagination. And so I write. And I love it. What was your motivation behind this project? Like many folks, I remember the first landing on the moon and watched it with awe while lying on my parents gold shag carpet. I wondered what it would be like if someone didn't have fond memories of that event. And my character Bryn was born. What do you hope folks will gain from this project? First I hope readers will be entertained by the story and characters. And I hope they will be prodded to think about their own life and if something in their past is holding them back. If so, I hope they can let it go. How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I was writing this book during the late winter and early spring that my father passed away. It was a difficult time for me and my family, things I had to let go of in order to move on, and this book helped me to do that. Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? God is my main source of inspiration. I pray over every project many, many times. God often reveals to me what I need to know at a certain time during the writing process. And somehow the book gets finished. My husband and kids are also a great source of strength and encouragement to me. Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: God is good. Always.
