I didn't discover Baby Wise until my 3rd child was 6 months old. I would have to write a book to explain the difference! A baby on a schedule is so much more content, and sure enough, sleeps through the night at 6 weeks! I had the plan figured out by my 4th child - I had to run into town and handed my "just nursed" 5 month old baby to my mom with these instructions: "he will play for 2 hours, then sleep for 2 hours (with no fussing)." I arrived back home on schedule, and asked how he had done. Mom replied, "He did exactly what you said." We had 6 children, now grown, and the difference still shows between demand feeding and schedule feeding! By the way, I wasn't rigid, but i was always working toward the schedule with flexibility.

Babies should be a wonderful, welcome addition to any home, but they are not in charge of the home. By putting a newborn on a rigid feeding schedule, the stress level in the home will be drastically reduced, and parents will get the sleep they so desperately need. My sister-in-law was so impressed with how the program worked for us, that she used it for her children, and was thrilled as well. Those who say this program is dangerous for babies are usually the same people who allow their children to run their home, and have many regrets later on. All of the parents we know who have implemented this program have children who are above average when it comes to being happy, well-adjusted, and well-behaved.

We have used this book on four children and it works beautifully. Keep in mind that the "medical communtiy" and the FDA have approved chemicals like BPA, Aspertame, Flouride, Agent Orange and many many other dangerous chemicals and procedures.

I am not sure how parent directed feeding can damage a child. Our children were always happier and better mannered than the non baby wise children we know. What is ther to loose? Happy children, parents and children who sleep at night.
