I enjoyed this series of 4 books. It was a bit difficult to determine which should be read first. It seemed like I read them backwards when I had finished.

This was such a good story I am now looking for the first three books in this series.

Out of all four, this one is my favorite. Oksana is a well-drawn character whose struggles of living a double life are realistically portrayed, and she is almost criminally easy to care about. Anton's emotional conflicts are just as deep and real, and I can definitely identify with his need to fulfill a purpose, even from a status that makes him feel like he's literally lost in a crowd. The plot and suspense are quite well done, and the dynamics of Oksana and Anton's relationship are a great mix of sweet, tense, and outright heart-stopping. Lovely, lovely work, Susie!

I was afraid when reading this book I would be lost because I hadn't read the 2nd and 3rd book in the series. I had read the first book, Ekaterina, and had enjoyed it very much. However this book reads as a novel by itself although reading the other books will probably help to connect the complete storyline. I'm a huge fan of Russian history especially when dealing with the Russian royal family. I have always found the rise and fall of the last Tsar of Russia and his family fascinating. This story weaves historical fact with fiction beautifully. It's a really good story too, with lots of suspense and romance. What I also enjoyed about this story is that while most stories during this time period focus on Anastasia, this one was mainly about Olga. It was nice to read about a different perspective. It was obvious lots of research went into writing this book. I could almost imagine I was part of the story myself, trying to get into disguise and running for my life. Even though I haven't read the two books in between I can see how the first book and the last book tie into together with lots of clues finally being revealed. Excellent historical fiction and highly recommended.

This entire series is WONDERFUL! In this book not only do we meet Oksana, but Anton himself. Well written--as are all of Susan May Warren's books.

I loved this book. I've loved all of the Heirs of Anton books, but I do believe OKSANA is my favorite!

Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  Susan May Warren is the best-selling author of more than 20 novels and novellas with Tyndale, Barbour and Steeple Hill. A three time Christy award finalist, and three time winner of the Inspirational Readers Choice contest, Susan currently has over 500,000 books in print. A seasoned women’s events speaker and writing teacher, she’s taught at the American Christian Fiction Writer’s conference for the past three years, and she runs a fiction editing service mybooktherapy training writers how to tell a great story. After serving for eight years with her husband and four children as missionaries in Khabarovsk, Far East Russia she now writes full-time while her husband runs a hotel on Lake Superior in northern Minnesota

What was your motivation behind this project?  How I long to have the faith of Abraham, or David, believing in God’s promises, and his sufficiency! But I can be such a fickle lamb, forgetting the care and leading of my shepherd, baaing in fear or even despair when the skies overhead turn dark. Such was the situation when I wrote Oksana. Overwhelmed by deadlines, and the awesome task of writing this story -- a story of faith and courage, a story about a man and a woman who began three generations of faith -- I stared at the blinking cursor of the computer and baa-ed. Thankfully, God is not fickle, or afraid. He is sufficient, and has the right words for every writer. As I pulled my laptop onto my lap and began tapping, one verse hung in my mind: “You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “any my servant who I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he.” (Is 43:10) God IS who He says He is – my provider, my sustainer, my encourager. And, as Oksana poured out onto the page, I saw this verse come alive in my life. Never had a story emerged with such passion from my heart as this one did. Never had I sensed God’s hand in writing more than in the birth of Oksana. Never did my faith grow as it did when I flung myself into God’s hands and lived out Anton and Oksana’s story – a story of trusting God, one step at a time, believing in his faithfulness to all generations. (or, all chapters, as the case may be!). I wish I could see ahead to my children’s lives, to know that they will walk in faith, and that their lives will be fruitful for the Lord. But I can’t – I can only put them into God’s hands and walk faithfully today.
