What good is a broken fingernail? What can you do with a frying pan, a hammer, and an egg? How is a balloon different from a brick?
The world around us is full of items useful for interesting and meaningful object lessons. Dr. Ryrie uses pencils, light bulbs, sunglasses, and even the air around us to illustrate truths about salvation and the Christian life.
All 100 objects are simple and easy to find, and the lessons can be used for any group of any age. Children and adults alike will enjoy learning more when you present these fascinating illustrations.
MaryRadcliff KYAge: 45-54Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Although dated, easily adaptable to today's kidsOctober 6, 2012MaryRadcliff KYAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4This book has dozens of good object lessons. Although some of them are dated (references to technology, common household items etc.) they give a good springboard for coming up with original object lessons that can be used to get kids' attention. I use these as openers for Children's Church.
JeannieALAge: Over 65Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5This product did not meet my needs.May 2, 2011JeannieALAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 2I expected object lessons on a younger level than what this book offered. They were too involved for the young children I would use this with.
Grace3 Stars Out Of 5The product is good but specificJanuary 17, 2011GraceQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 3The book is well written and the object lessons are solid and creative. However, most of the object lessons have to do with salvation and don't have as much variety as I would have liked.
Andy Anderson5 Stars Out Of 5June 20, 2010Andy AndersonI have just finished reading this book by Dr. Ryrie. What wonderful illustrations and lessons that were used by Dr. Ryrie with children. I have found them to be applicable to this older kid, and thoroughly enjoyed it! Nicely done!
Shelia Young5 Stars Out Of 5June 30, 2009Shelia YoungThis book surpassed my expectation. I am the Youth Bible Study Teacher (6 - 12 grade) and using this technique while adding my personality and experiences. They have asked me to become their Sunday School teacher. I love this book and wished it would have been around when I was in my informative journey to knowing God. I would have had a better understanding.
