Chris Wells does a wonderful job of describing the inner workings of a Retirement Community. His characters are well-developed and easy to fall in love with. Earl reminds me of a man I used to know who lived in a nursing home where I once worked (rough around the edges, but a big teddy bear inside). Jenny reminds me of many well-meaning college girls I know at my church. Together, the two make a humorous duo.

I eagerly look forward to reading more from Chris Wells.

This book is well written and has a unique setting--a retirement home. The main character is an elderly man who changes and grows through the kindness of a college student who visits him as a "project." There is a bit of a mystery, but nothing really suspenseful or scary. The plot is a little weak in places, but the building of the main character is worth the read.

Nursing a Grudge is a cozy mystery that hits high on the entertaining level. Chris Well's dept of characterization makes readers feel as if they know the main characters personally--I, for one, feel as if Earl was my neighbor. LOL Well plotted with an interesting cast, I recommend this fun read to fans of the cozy genre!
